Tangenziale di Como (2012-2015)

Background

The Como Ring Road is part of the great Pedemontana Lombarda project, in fact it is a part of it and connects the Como-Chiasso section to the town of Como. This section runs for about 9 km, most of which, about 6 km, is in a natural tunnel. The areas crossed are arranged in a radial pattern around the Camerlata crossing, the large built-up cone that defines the southwest entrance to Como. To the west, the Grandate plain, marked by the Seveso’s course, is dominated by a strong presence of industrial settlements and a network of urban centers.

The Group’s Work

The works started in 2012 and finished in 2015; They were born from the synergy of the Migliaccio Group with the two client companies Cava di Cusago and ColliniThe kilometers of tunnels completed are the result of the use of 4 special pumps from 35 mt to 53 mt high and 10 concrete mixers. The work was carried out mainly during daylight hours, only during the concrete casting in the tunnels was night work preferred, the castings also reached 600m in length. A total of 300,000 thousand cubic meters of concrete was poured between tunnels, elevated platforms, roads and piers. Daily pours were quite large from 200-300m3 of concrete.
